Sedona Elopement // Sara + Marcus {Sedona and Flagstaff Elopement Videographer}

July 01, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Sara and Marcus were married at one of the most beautiful spots in Sedona. To keep Sedona beautiful, I will not say exactly where it was, but know that it’s a dream. Sedona is full of stunning, intimate locations, making it perfect for elopements. They were joined by Sara’s adorable daughter and their parents. Their vows were so tender and genuine, and as I edited their footage and audio, I felt so much happiness for them! It is incredible how life can bring people together, separate them for a time, and then reunite them when they both need it most. Congratulations Sara and Marcus! Preview above, film below.

Sedona Cathedral Rock Elopement // Margot + Chris {Sedona elopement videographer}

July 01, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Margot and Chris flew from the east coast on a private plane to elope in Sedona. They thankfully dodged a few storms that threatened to delay their wedding. Sadly, Chris’s father passed away about a week before the wedding. To remember him, they brought his favorite hat, which is pictured above. I thought this was a sweet, sincere way for the couple to feel like he was there with them.

Margot told us that she had been divorced for 25 years and was so happy to find love again. The two were giddy with love and they were one of the smoochiest couples I’ve ever filmed. It is a great reminder that we have no idea where life will take us, and love can come when we least expect it.

The couple also wanted an authentic Native American ceremony. They asked to keep their full wedding film private, and I happily respect that, but know that it was full of singing, live flute, and incredibly powerful and moving words about the earth, letting go of negativity from the past, and moving forward with devotion.

This elopement was planned by Weddings in Sedona and they commit to helping couples find genuine, authentic Native American officiants. This ceremony was beautifully officiated by Mario Black Wolf, a Medicine Man from the Mechica-Apache Tribe. Anthony Flesch played the Native American flute, which brought a lovely ambiance. Sedona Bride Photography captured incredible images.

L'Auberge de Sedona Wedding // Brittany + Jason {Sedona Wedding Videographer}

July 01, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Brittany and Jason, who live in Florida, had a very large wedding at L’Auberge de Sedona planned. When COVID-19 started disrupting everyone’s plans, they considered cancelling, but then Jason looked at Brittany and said, "Let’s fly to AZ and do it.” They were joined by 8 loved ones, and it was so beautiful. There are so many things going wrong right now, but I’m glad there are still so many things to celebrate, even when the circumstances may not be our first choice.

Sedona COVID-19 Elopement // Jessica + Denys {Sedona Elopement Videographer}

June 08, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Jessica and Denys were supposed to be getting married in the Caribbean on a white sand beach. When those plans fell through due to COVID-19, they traded white sand for the red sand of Sedona, and it was beautiful! I love seeing how couples are making the best of this difficult situation and choosing to find the joy. It really is inspiring! Jessica also told me that they are using the money they didn’t spend on a Caribbean wedding to remodel their house. Genius!

This was my first wedding with Weddings in Sedona , and since this elopement, I’ve already worked a few others. They are extremely well organized, hire talented photographers and musicians, and I would definitely recommend them for Sedona wedding planning.

Congratulations Jessica and Denys!!

Red Agave Resort Elopement // Jessica + Andy {Sedona and Flagstaff Wedding Videographer}

May 19, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Jessica and Andy planned to get married on May the 4th, and nothing could stop them, not even COVID-19. These two have so much going on! Both just graduated medical school last week and are heading off to begin their residencies. However, one important detail: their residencies are 500 miles apart. It was very important to them that they get married, regardless of a global pandemic, and start this new phase of life as a married couple.

Jessica’s parents were able to attend the wedding, as well as their beautiful pup Brutus. They were still married at Red Agave Adventure Resort like they had planned, and there was one perk: we had the entire place to ourselves. The intimate ceremony was followed by a toasts and cake cutting, which family and friends joined via Skype. There were some technological difficulties, but the love was still there. In addition to this film, I created an edit of the entire ceremony with their toasts, and some fun behind the scenes shots. I am keeping this off the internet for privacy reasons, but I am soooo glad Jessica and Andy had me document this beautiful day so that they can rewatch and celebrate their wedding day for years to come. May the 4th be with you!

Agave of Sedona Wedding // Jordan + Matt {Sedona and Flagstaff Wedding Videographer}

April 28, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Jordan and Matt were married at Agave of Sedona the weekend everything started to really shut down. Some of the guests were unable to travel to the wedding, but most were there. I made sure to wash my hands well before eating and refrained from touching my face, but other than that, things felt pretty normal. It’s interesting how looking back, it’s like we had no idea what was coming. One big clue though, was that the original photographer had to find replacement photographers last minute, because she had just returned from Spain and was self quarantining for 14 days (SO SMART of her, and her replacements were fabulous).

Little did I know then, this was my last wedding for a while and one of the final weddings at Agave of Sedona before the governor’s shelter in place orders. My calendar was booked almost every weekend through April and I was gearing up to have my busiest spring ever, but since then every single shoot has been rescheduled or cancelled. In all honesty though, I am doing fine, and I really feel so sad for the couples out there who have had to cancel, reschedule, and shift their wedding vision.

I am so happy that Jordan and Matt unknowingly squeezed in their wedding before things got really crazy. Their wedding was beautiful, and they were surrounded by so much love. Their bridesmaids and groomsmen gave some of the best speeches I’ve heard, and it was a privilege to be there! Just typing about this has me missing capturing human nature in some of its finest forms. Congratulations Jordan and Matt and I hope you’re enjoying your quarantined honeymoon stage.

Agave of Sedona Wedding // Thuy and Matthew {Sedona and Flagstaff Videographer}

April 28, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Thuy and Matthew’s wedding feels like a lifetime ago, although it really wasn’t! Both are AZ natives that now live in Washington. It was the last wedding I filmed where I wasn’t even thinking about the virus! Where I danced at the reception in a big group of people, and took food from the buffet without thinking twice. A week later, I had another wedding, and by then things had really changed.

Thuy is a medical professional, and I am so happy that their wedding happened to fall in early March, where guests could still travel and plans could go off without a hitch. Soon after her wedding, her work turned into chaos.

Matthew and Thuy planned a gorgeous wedding at Agave of Sedona. They are high school sweethearts, have traveled the world (even snorkeled in Iceland) and created successful careers. I was especially touched by the love they both have for each other’s parents, and the love their parents have for their spouse. Their parents knew them as awkward teens! Same with their siblings- they all grew up together and have a real love for one another. They seemed more like true siblings than in-laws.

Congratulations Thuy and Matthew!! I love watching your quarantined newlywed life on Instagram.

Canyon Pet Hospital {Flagstaff Commercial Videographer}

April 20, 2020 by Leslie Allred in commercial videography

Canyon Pet Hospital is Northern Arizona’s premier veterinary hospital. When they reached out to me about creating a recruitment video for veterinarians and LVTs, I was excited to take on such a complex project . I met with their management staff where we created a list of goals, composed a list of questions and got to work. I conducted close to 20 interviews with their staff. I enjoy conducting interviews, because one of my strengths is making people feel comfortable in front of the camera, when in the hot seat with a light shining on them. I listen well, and help make sure the interviewee leaves feeling confident. During the interviews, there was so much positive energy about the work atmosphere, quality of care given, and support received by management.

I then filmed the staff working with their patients, and I was very impressed and touched with the level of love and care shown toward the animals and their owners. I filmed a momma dog getting one of her final ultrasounds before delivering puppies. I filmed a rabbit getting surgery, a dog recovering from being hit by a car, dogs in physical therapy, pets in for their routine checkups, and so much more. We also wanted to showcase what a wonderful place Flagstaff is to live so I included drone footage of our beautiful town and well as some scenic shots from a round town.

I then edited close to 2 hours of footage down to this 3:49 recruitment film for CPH, and I’m very proud of it.

This was a wonderful, huge project, and I am grateful for the opprotunity create a useful tool for such a quality Flagstaff business.

Newborn Family Film // Ivy {Flagstaff Family Videographer}

April 11, 2020 by Leslie Allred in newborn videography

Filming newborn family sessions is one of my absolute favorite things to do. And every time I cry. Seriously- there is nothing like a newborn. Often on social media, you see hospital newborn shoots. These are lovely too, but definitely not for everybody. In this film, Ivy was close to a month old, everyone was a bit more relaxed, and it was wonderful. There is no wrong or right way to document this time! I am still over the moon for this family and can’t wait to see how much she’s grown during quarantine!!

Sedona Golf Resort Wedding // Ashley and Andrew

April 08, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Ashley and Andrew were married on one of the rainiest days in the last two years. It wasn’t sprinkling but was pouring all morning and early afternoon. It was even snowing in Flagstaff. The wedding was still set to go on, so I brought my husband to be my umbrella holder. Even as I set up my tripods for the ceremony, it was still raining. And then, a wedding miracle took place. The rain stopped, and the sun came out. When Ashley came out to walk down the aisle, she was so surprised by the sunshine, she cried. The rain held off for a good 2 hours, and by the time we were back inside for dinner and toasts, the rain started again. I was so happy for them, and, as an added bonus, the clouds over the red rock were absolutely stunning.

This was my first wedding at Sedona Golf Resort, and I can’t wait to go back.

Came to Pass Recovery Promotional Film {Flagstaff commercial videographer}

April 04, 2020 by Leslie Allred in commercial videography

I had the wonderful opportunity of filming a promotional film for Came to Pass Recovery , located here in Flagstaff, AZ. Came to Pass provides holistic addiction treatment, counseling, and transitional recovery to males 18 and older. Flagstaff is a wonderful place to come for recovery. It is welcoming, accepting, and a place that is easy to get back into nature. As I interviewed the CEO, medical director, clinical director, therapists, social workers, and others, it was clear that Came to Pass is a group of highly experienced professionals who are passionate about their work and helping others.

L'Auberge de Sedona Wedding//Jay + Brandon {Sedona Wedding Videographer}

March 30, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Jay and Brandon were such a lovely couple. I met Brandon about an hour before the ceremony, and the first thing I noticed was his huge smile, and he wore that smile all day. He was obviously esctatic to be marrying Jay, and it was adorable. Soon after meeting Jay, we did a first look with her dad. She wrote him a letter, which he read aloud. It was so tender and made me cry. This family loves each other.

They were married up at the Spirit Song terrace and the reception that followed was fantastic. So much live music. Her good friend sang during cocktail hour and during the dance with her dad. She was competition for Adele. And Lucky Devils Band played the rest of the reception. I absolutely love shooting with the Lucky Devils Band. Live music brings the best vibes to weddings.

Congrats to this beautiful couple, and I recently heard they will be a party of 3 come fall. My heart is bursting!!

Arizona Snowbowl Elopement {Flagstaff elopement and wedding videographer}

February 19, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

1/1/2020 is a pretty incredible anniversary. I spent the first sunrise of the decade with Lynn and Mike at Arizona Snowbowl. It was freezing, but so beautiful. They came from Florida to elope and start 2020 together as husband and wife. We finished just as the groomers were touching up the slopes for New Year’s Day skiers. I am grateful for this job that gets me out of bed to witness incredible sunrises.

Huge thanks to Heather Kadar for this great BTS photo. Heather is an incredible photog who takes care of her brides!!

Kendra and Connor Agave of Sedona Wedding {Sedona Wedding Videographer}

January 28, 2020 by Leslie Allred in wedding

Kendra and Connor are two incredible people. Kendra is a PA in New Mexico, and she has worked so hard, overcoming all sorts of obstacles, to get to where she is. Connor is a professional baseball player, and he too, has worked unbelievably hard to get to where he is. Being at their wedding, hearing speeches from their families, and listening to their vows over and over as I edited their film, was a good reminder that this life is such a gift. There is so much to be experienced and learned, and most of the time, we need to step up and take an active role to make our dreams come true.

Kendra incorporated so many beautiful details from her culture in her wedding and ceremony. Her mother sewed turquoise throughout her veil. Native American flute music floated over the the crowd. Sacred prayers were said to the north, south, east, and west. It truly was a sacred ceremony, and I am grateful I was there to capture it for their family to enjoy as the years go by.

Holli and Nate D.A. Ranch Country Wedding, Cornville, AZ {Sedona Wedding Videographer}

December 06, 2019 by Leslie Allred in wedding

I grew up in Tucson, AZ, and I now live in Flagstaff, AZ. I had never been to Cornville, AZ until this wedding, and it knocked my socks off. As soon as I arrived at the D.A. (Dancing Apache} Ranch, I was in love. This is an unbelievable venue. It has weeping willows, huge sycamores, cottonwoods, a pond, goats, a stunning cabin, and a homey, yet elegant feel. Incredibly, this is all nestled in the middle of the Arizona desert.

This venue was also perfect for Nate and Holli. Holli originally planned to get married in Sedona, but couldn’t quite find a venue that fit what she was looking for. She told me that as soon as she drove down the dirt road on to the DA Ranch property, she immediately knew it was the place. Nate and Holli both have a long, loving history with horses and this spot complimented them beautifully.

Holli went to college at the University of Arizona. During the toasts, her dad told the crowd that each year after classes let out, she would pack up and drive to Estes Park to wrangle horses. At the end of the summer she would return to AZ and tell her family “I am never marrying a cowboy.” Nate and Holli then met at a horse event here in AZ. It took a little time, but after their first real date, the rest was history. Apparently, her dad said, there are exceptions.
